Hace unos meses hablamos aquí de Barry Brandon y sus actividades con las comunidades Queer en distintas partes del mundo.
Pues bien, dijo que lo haría y lo hizo. La víspera de Navidad de 2021 Barry organizó una de sus marchas en la mismísima Ciudad del Vaticano, entre la columnata de Bernini y ante las puertas de la Basílica de San Pedro. Posiblemente el Walk mas relevante de todos los que ha realizado hasta ahora porque es todo un símbolo para todas las personas LGTBIQA+
A few months ago we talked here about Barry Brandon and his activities with Queer communities in different parts of the world.
Well, he said he would and he did. On Christmas Eve 2021, Barry organized one of his marches in Vatican City itself, between Bernini’s colonnade and before the gates of St. Peter’s Basilica. Possibly the most relevant Walk of all that he has done so far because it is a complete symbol.

The queerIndigo’s efforts to give visibility to Queer Humans in an elegant, peaceful and fun way all over the planet are bearing fruit, its projection is becoming broader and the mere fact of marching like this through the same cobblestones that have stepped on so many monstrous beings sheltered under the bloody cloak of the church, it is a great slap in the face without hands to that depraved institution.

<<At this point, for many years, I’ve been so confused as to the ability that the church has had to hold such power over people + norms and thus the involvement in politics and then thus laws that reflect. So, we decided to gather together to take up space and be visible in an area that is not regularly taken up by Queer People. We didn’t change any laws that day and honestly, probably didn’t change anything in regards to anyone that was watching (though we did get lots of applause and photos snapped), but what did happen is that everyone that joined on this day felt powerful and free. And on this day we STOMPED in front of a building in a city that has positioned itself globally as a harm to our community, standing in opposition to human rights.
And so, a seed has been planted.>>
<<En este punto, durante muchos años, he estado muy confundido en cuanto a la capacidad que ha tenido la iglesia para tener tanto poder sobre las personas, las normas y, por lo tanto, con la participación en la política y las leyes que reflejan. Entonces, decidimos reunirnos para ganar espacio y ser visibles en un área que no es ocupada regularmente por Personas Queer. Esta vez la marcha no tiene música porque era necesario hacer sonar los tacones sobre los adoquines. Ese sonido indica que los Humanos Queer existimos, vamos a seguir aquí y nadie nos va detener nunca mas.
This time the march has no music because it was necessary to click the heels on the cobblestones. That sound indicates that Queer Humans exist, we are going to continue here and no one is going to stop us anymore.
